It is not clear why we have a desire for attaining things. We can find a sociological explanation, psychological reasons, and even mathematical truth in this universal act of owning a certain material or ’thing’, but our actions give the away hints of a primal attitude that shows the worst of humanity when the marketing promises of an intangible life clash in the contemporary commercial battlefield of sales and discounts. If accelerationism is correct, we are living the best days of our society, and we should expect global change any time soon. Wether the life as we know it collapses or not, one can only try to bring perspective into this frantic capitalistic lifestyle of the western culture. By showing the actions of ’out of control sale fanatics’, who are mostly middle and lower class, we can create a short, but effective, anti-marketing impact on the spectator. By inverting the same techniques advertisements use to lure people in to buying things, the spectator gets a behind the scenes perspective on the consequences of humanity manipulated by false superficial desire.
