anomaly: something that deviates from what is standard, normal, or expected
Anomaly plays with the idea of future archaeological excavations when the developing technology enables novel approaches to studying the findings.
The futuristic excavation has been constructed of photographed findings, which end up in a new, unnatural form along with digital manipulation. In the picture created on recycled polyester, objects and embroidered details are interwoven at different levels, like archaeological findings are interwoven in different layers of the soil.
The artwork is a part of KampusART’s pedagogic programme.
