PIQUE-NIQUE presents the fruits of paradise
The artwork PIQUE-NIQUE by Noora Schroderus consists of rings made of stainless steel. Molded exotic fruits are combined with the steel elements of the artwork, which will be installed in three skylight niches. Located on the first floor of EduCity, PIQUE-NIQUE reproduces the elements of the Kupittaa campus architecture, but in more organic form. The artwork resembles a fruit tree, a cloud formation or a spatial landscape. It creates an aesthetic space under which you can stop in order to eat, drink and spend time together.
The artistic jury described the form and visuality of Schroderus’ artwork feminine and jewel-like. PIQUE-NIQUE is visually interesting artwork that transforms with changing lighting conditions. It creates a luxurious atmosphere in its site, as if inviting the viewer to pick the fruits of paradise.
Noora Schroderus (b. 1982) graduated with a Master of Fine Arts from the Academy of Fine Arts. She has had several solo and group exhibitions in Finland and abroad. Schroderus’ artworks are in the art collections of the state, Wihuri and various foundations, for example.
