The KampusART arts programme, which started in autumn 2018, has come to an end.

Art is an essential part of everyday life on Kupittaa Campus. As a result of the arts programme, worth of almost a million euros, a total of 21 permanent or temporary works have been installed in EduCity and its surroundings. The starting points have been courage, diversity and site-specificity.

Art creates a strong identity for EduCity and, without the works of art, the building would feel empty. Together with the campus architecture, site-specific artworks form an exciting and enduring visual entity. Art was acquired from professional artists and art students through open calls for portfolios and art competitions. In addition, a work community artist concept and a 1.5-year media art programme were launched during the arts programme.

Changing contemporary art will be seen in EduCity in the future as well. Media artworks by Turku UAS’ Arts Academy will be shown on the media wall in EduCity as the media art programme continues until the end of May 2023. Also, the changing exhibitions of Rotaatio gallery, established as part of the arts programme, continue in the staff premises on the 4th floor.

The Kupittaa Campus arts programme was coordinated by Turku UAS’ Arts Academy, and it was implemented in cooperation by Turku UAS and Turku Technology Properties.
